FW: Total Rewards - Account Question - Harrah's East Chicago

At least Harrah's finally admitted that their system doesn't make any sense.

I asked them how they know if the system is functioning properly, since there is no way for the user to tell if they are getting the proper credits. I'll post a reply if I get one.

  Dear Mr. Zaroff,

  Thank you for your patience.

After discussing this matter with our Total Rewards manager, she has informed me that the Bonus Reward Credits are given completely random. As you play, you will definitely earn them, but the rate at which you earn them is random.

  Thank you again.

Comment: I played at Harrah's East Chicago on October 19 - 21. On one day

, I played a particular machine and earned 604 base points and

1207 bonus points. I played some more on the same machine on the

same day and had a total of 1155 base and 2027 bonus credits.

The first time I played, I earned 2 bonus credits for each base

credit. By playing more, I ended up with less than the 2:1

      ratio. How does that happen?

At least Harrah's finally admitted that their system doesn't make any

sense.

I've been telling them that since June, but despite the 15 surveys
they've sent since then, they don't listen.

The TR switch is the sole reason I don't play Harrah's anymore.

JZ; seems Harrah's invented the RBG?

I'm right behind you!

The Showboat(@AC; owned by Harrahs) sent me an e-mail survey about
the changes to their TR program about 2 months ago. They asked me
several, relatively specific, questions about it, then asked me if I
feel that the new program is better or worse than the old one was.

It wasn't hard at all, nor did it take much thought, for me to reply
WORSE! And I've since learned that things(the changes) are even
WORSE than I thought!

For example, I played VP @Showboat for 2 hours and 20 minutes
(according to their records) on November 6th. As it happens,
November 6th was one of the "Double Cash Days" their new program
features(I don't remember there being any such days with the old
program). Yet, upon visiting there yesterday(my next visit there
after the 6th), I had NO cash waiting for me in my account!

Why? Well, you can bet I went to the Total Rewards Booth and asked
that very question!

Their answer? Well, to boil it down, I won $30 during that 2:20 VP
session on the 6th. And, UNlike the former(pre-"improved") TR program
(and UNlike ANY other Casino Card Program I'm aware of) Winnings are
now figured into their cashback formula(along with time playing,
money in/thru the machine, etc)!!!

In other words: "You won $30, and now you want MORE?"

Well, I'm NOT the type to respond to a "You'll Get NOTHING And LIKE
It!" attitude with "Thank You, Sir. May I Have Another?". So, once
I get my 2579 '03 point total over the 3,000 needed for Platinum
status there(ONly so that I can visit their buffet without waiting in
the often-hour-plus-long lines there for it), I'm Outa There!

It makes me want to stay completely CLEAR of ALL Harrah's properties
on any and ALL future trips to ANY gambling locales! Can anyone here
name any Harrah's properties I shouldn't include in this "Boycott" of
mine, along with reasons why(not to)?

Jeff, do not drop Tahoe from decent Harrahs. Just being there is
reason enough. The Diamond Hosts are best in system and Exec VP Joe
Hasson will assist in resolving troubles even with Exec Hosts. Same
can't be said for Reno. We just head for SilverLegacy where we found
refuge when so mad at Harrah's couldn't spit last May. We have some
marvelous deals both spots. Just added 2 days to a Xmas trip to take
in a 3 day offer at SL on top of Tahoe Harrah's. SL gives us $500 pre
Xmas by making 1250 Pts in 3 whole days. 2 playing $'s is six hours
and includes a premium room, meals. Y'tday in zings 3 extra SL days
with 30 Dec D Akroyd J Belushi Blues Bros dinner show $75 seats, NY
Eve Pty, NYr Brunch. We wind up in a suite 23-26 Dec Harrahs Tahoe, 2
SF days on Union Sq at $70 a nite Chancellor Hotel, 2 more nites at
Tahoe, 2 nites SL REno all for cost of SW Air and a double upgrade on
Avis @ $400. Any really interested in hosts, playing at above Plat.
Harrah's feel free to ask. Ours say, "Hey, I'm glad you won! When
you planning back? I'll set it up on the calendar." We feel treated
like royalty on $ VP expense. CD
