Unfortunately, on the date this was posted the promotion took a turn for the worst. No longer can you redeem one coupon per day.
They have had this bi-monthly promotion for at least two years and to the best of my knowledge players had been able to redeem multiple coupons. Last year I was able to redeem about three coupons. That is all that I could find. This year after seeing other players redeem coupons on a daily basis I came to the conclusion that "one coupon per person" must refer to "daily basis", at least as far as the floor personnel were concerned. They took due diligence to record and check the player card number, apparently for that date, before making the payment. There did not seem to be any id fraud on the part of the players making the redemptions.
Based on this, I decided to gather as many coupons that I could. This time I secured more than three. I was able to redeem several of these before I was informed that I could not redeem any more. Apparently, other players were informed on the same day.
Was there deception on my part? Whenever I gave the floor personnel the coupon I was never asked if I had redeemed one already. In fact the same personnel (day shift) paid me multiple times.
Did I have reservations about what was truely meant by the coupon? Of course I did, but while it was one hell of an advantage, I don't think it was cheating.

I'm putting 7 out in the next 48-72 hours. These are all known to
locals, there's nothing top secret about them, but they're all strong.
I won't be doing this often, so pay attention!!!

This message was added to the board on Friday...did I miss them? Were
they posted?

I thought I was paying attention...

I posted them on my site. I've plugged it enough this week, you're
going to have to find the URL on your own...

I don't know if this violates any policies but I found it quite
offensive and demeaning to the poster. At the least it is extremely impolite.

I didn't see the original reply, if any and was curious to follow the thread.

I guess he should hold everyones hand. Offensive and impolite? You
have to be kidding, the internet is not for you if you so easily have
your feelings hurt.

I tend to be excessively sensitive to negative posts, ideally hoping
for an "everybody play nice" group. While Paladin's comment was a
little brusque, I "got" where he was coming from. It's not his
intention to spoon feed and in general he's made it clear that he's
annoyed by some players who stand around like newborn chicks with
their beaks open waiting to be fed plays. I think Don provoked a knee
jerk reaction of a type that I might be susceptible to myself.

I have respect for Don and think he rather innocuously stumbled into
this one. Hopefully he cut Paladin a break.

Further up the thread is the link, and within "pal"'s site I found
this which was just posted Monday 3/27:

http://paladingaming.net/index.php?
option=com_content&task=view&id=22&Itemid=1

5 LV plays, 2 Reno plays.

3 of the plays are Progs that rely on fast meters to make it
worthwhile to monitor them, awaiting "positive" territory to play.

If these plays become burned out in the next couple months, then his
phobia about outing "strong plays" will be more founded.

It's actually more of a violation to withhold a play as members of
this site than it is to be "brusque". IMO.

Thanks pal. Carry on the struggle. And good luck with your site
membership.

It sure sounds like bait-and-switch to me: "there's some good
stuff coming (but you're going to have to go to my site and register
for it before you'll be able to see it)."

Personally, I welcome palladin's posts, whatever his style. This guy
knows his VP and if you chase off every expert from our board then
we'll eventually lose all of our "street cred".

I think he is sticking to vpFree rules and guidelines, while at the
same time start up a website to make some money. He's certainly
established plenty of credibility in my opinion.

Let's get back to some content folks.

I wasn't trying to cause controversy. To my mind, there is a value to
information, and there's also a tension between publicizing yourself
on another's board and spamming it. If you want the information, which
I believe most would find value with, particularly if one plays
quarters to dollars and is from out of town, all you have to do is
point and click. I use a signature on about 95% of my posts.

For what it's worth, I'm not planning on making a killing from doing
this. I just want to be able to have my own soapbox without getting in
anyone's way. I'm really quite profitable in my other ventures, both
gaming and non-gaming related.

You can offer someone the keys and show them where the lock is, but
you can only do so much after that.

Thanks for the love...yeah, it was like I was putting a gun to the
guy's head, making him register and get approved and forcing him
involuntarily to check out a $20/hr play at quarters. And get comps!
and get mail! Heavens, the guy may get a paper cut checking out a room
offer, can I get sued for this?

Not to worry. In our business, true street cred comes from NOT
publishing. The revenue generated from the site likely won't pay
hosting and my webmistress' miniscule salary. My business partner and
I are doing this because we enjoy playing, we're really being very
altruistic about this. But then again, you can offer them Michael's
and Prime and Charlie Trotter's and some will still want to eat at the
Fiesta buffet.

Harry,

I like your term "innocuously stumbled"...much better than anything I
would have used!

Looks like I just screwed up, plain and simple. My appologies to
Paladin and anyone else who (is it who or whom?) I may have offended.

Just looked at the website and the 5 LV plays are, as Paladin said,
known to the local VP community. I like the site much better now that
the color and font size have been changed.
