I use the CAT system, the free casino shuttles (there are lots of these) and the monorails to get just about everywhere.

For the past two decades I have always used a TAXI and I have tipped 50 to 100% of the fare. For example if I went from Monte Carlo to the Palms. The Fair was about 7 - 8 bucks. I would give them $15. My tipping is usually capped at $20 total, but then again I have never had a ride that exceeded 12 to 16 bucks. That is until two trips ago when the cab driver took me through the tunnel to get to Main Street Station from the airport.
Needless to say he caught an ear full and no tip. I started to report him, but did not. The main reason why is because I believe that the cab drivers should police themselves. It is not my responsibility to weed out the bad apples. In my line of work. We weed them out ourselves.
Until the Las Vegas Cab drivers can clean up their acts, the rental car companies will get my dollars. On my last trip I rented a car and low and behold I saved money, because their were no tips. There is really not a need for taxi's any more and I would really urge every one to avoid taxi's, but that choice is up to you. When they clean up their act, I will be happy to do business with them again !!!!
