Well, I was C2 last stay and I received an empty envelope. Is this
like finding a lump of coal in your stocking at Christmas?
- H.
C2 like you and $500 too!
Last year C3 but 1000 mulas offered to me.
How about you last year?
Were you C2 or C3.
And do you get similar offers like me?
Dissapointed but maybe LVH screwed up last year.
Or there comps have gone down I fear.

Guess I am not the only one getting an empty envelope. I did call and
was told that I got $1000 (no actual mail needed). I am C2.

So how does the "spree" work? Do you get a gift certificate card that can be used later? Or do you have to expend all your ammo during the event and if so, is it just select items that are for sale or do you have the run of the store?
C3 this year and got $500. Go figure!

Its a gift card and you have the run of the store. They say it has to
be used that day but people have said it doesn't. Since there is fear
of the unknown, you can buy a small expensive item then return it for
a credit back at home. The credit slip can be used at "Off Fifth Ave"
which is Saks outlet store.

Each in my experience is pretty similar one to the other.
Typically, you get an invitation to the event which carries a three
or four day free stay with it along with casino complimentaries in
line with your play history. For the Spree, you queue up at some
appointed time with appropriate identification and receive a stored
value card for the amount on your offer.
The card can be used as any regular stored value gift card obtained
through regular channels; that is, it's good at all Saks, or
Nordstrom, or whatever stores nationwide. It will also have an
expiration date. During an earlier LVH Spree this year at Macy's, I
believe, we were told that the money all needed to be spent during
the hours of the Spree at that particular store. That information
was wrong (or to be less charitable, they lied) for the card turned
out to be your garden variety stored value gift card.
On the day of the event, the casino will provide transportation
to/from the store, normally in buses. However, if you're a truly
high roller, the casino will be happy to whisk you away in a limo.
The store will be opened only for the Shopping Spree folks for a
restricted number of hours, usually three and often on a Sunday
morning where they wouldn't open til a little later than usual
anyway. Often, the store will also provide extra staff to assist
spree'ers and even a concierge or two to arrange shipping, holds, or
various special requests. Normally, a light breakfast brunch
featuring sweet rolls, fruits, and assorted drinks is available.
Strolling musicians and singers sometimes provide additional
entertainment beyond the joys of shopping. All in all, they are
quite pleasant events that ML and I both find attractive.

The gift card is a standard issue store card such as you might
purchase in any store and is valid anywhere. We brought our card
home last year and have used it in the local outlet. (We did the same
with our LVH Neiman Marcus card last year as well.)
The card has no expiration. After any period of non-use extending
greater than 24 months, a $4 monthly dormancy fee is deducted until
the card is next used.
For what it's worth, gift cards such as this generally draw $.90+ on
the dollar in EBay auctions.

I'm C3 and didn't even get the empty envelope.
Although I did participate in the Neiman-Marcus
shopping spree in July.
C3 this year and got $500. Go figure!

When I participated in the LVH Neiman-Marcus shopping
spree in July, they made it clear it was a giftcard
that we could use on anything in the store and that if
we didn't use the entire amount that day, it could be
used at any future Neiman-Marcus.

After seeing everyone getting LV Hilton Saks offers I called and was
told I wasn't sent one. Since I had played at least 1000 points per
day through ($30,000) on last trip of 2 nights and previously had
been C2 and C3 I asked to speak to a host.
The host checked and said my trip had somehow been divided into 3
trips - with a zero play day on last day (obviously - I checked out -
I was there for 2 nights) resulting in a lower average. This with
about a $6000 loss too! He said this was weird and abnormal and
phoned the person in charge to have this fixed.
He called back and gave me $1000 Saks trip and booked me in as C3.
He said I needed to go to Connections desk when I arrived to try
to "fix" this trip. But I explained that if I waited until then I
would not be getting offers so he is going to try to fix this and get
trip deleted or something....
Anyway, could be that other people have similar anomolies in their
accounts and this is why C2 players or others are getting $500 while
other people get $1000.
Upshot - if you think you are getting a wrong amount - call a host
today!
Also - this shows how useful this group is - if I hadn't seen the
other posts about the trip I would have missed out on the whole thing
when no mailing showed up.
Also the host mentioned that another offer for Oct. was in the mail
for a "play with chips" or somesuch offer. Has anyone gotten that
one?

Maybe we should have a get-to-gether at LV Hilton since so many of us
will be there. Apparently the shopping spree will be on Sat. How
about a Sunday brunch at the LV Hilton buffet?
Yesterday I finally got my Saks offer. $500. I'm
currently C3.
It seems most here are getting $500 or $1000. When I
was there in July and went to pick-up my Neiman's
giftcard, I got a peek at one page of the list they
signed you off on. There were 2 names who recieved
$3000 Neiman-Marcus giftcards.
I'm guessing they were strictly big slot players and
played no VP.
