Fw: Christmas Project for Deaf Children

If you missed the first announcement, I have copied it below. Please e-mail me PERSONALLY to make arrangements to meet us with your contributions. Usually meeting at the Palms is a good solution. Also, remember that these contributions should not have casino logos.

Subject: [vpFREE] Christmas Project-Help Requested

Hi everyone!!

I want to thank everyone who contributed last year to the Christmas gift exchange I worked on for my school with Jean Scott. I'd like to do it again this year, and any help is appreciated. I am a teacher of the Deaf at a low-income middle school very close to the Strip. Many of our kids cannot afford to buy Christmas gifts for their parents.

Last year, I collected some freebies from casinos and put the word out for help on this great board and Jean collected freebies from the very generous people on this board. She delivered them in a van, along with some monetary donations. The freebies were "bought" by the kids with tickets they earned for good behavior in class. The monetary donations were used to buy all the kids lunch at McDonald's after a trip up the Stratosphere tower.

Jean said she would be happy to do this again this year. If you have any freebies from casinos such as tool kits, picture frames, etc; please contact Jean and you can meet her at the Palms. She will keep those things and drive them over to our school. I would like to start distributing those things in December before the holidays. The kids LOVED this last year. They got so excited, and it's difficult to get middle school kids excited about anything. =) If you'd like to help and have something you can share, please contact Jean. I'd like to have everything by the end of November, so donations are appreciated by November 21st. Thanks!! You can also e-mail me at DeafTeacher75@yahoo.com w/ any questions.
