FW and MS Updates

Stayed at FW and short visited MS last Thursday and Friday.

FW … 4 machines in Cedar between cashier and short quarter progressive carousel are short at the dollar level but do have 9/6 Jacks at $2 and $5 level.

END OF AN ERA AT MS ?

MS removed (3) one dollar FPPEM in the earth casino. Tally there is now six machines.

Earth overrun by slots particularly pennies…no surprise there. Even the short pay triple play quarter progressives near the Hall Of LostTribes entrance are gone.

Here are some comments from players who were surprised by this further inventory reduction

  1. Renovations in lost Tribe near Johnny Rockets might contain missing machines.

  2. FPPEM machines were eliminated to be used for parts for existing machines because of age and scarcity .

MS FPPEM inventory is now 11 dollar 6 in Earth 5 in Sky…three $5 up to ten coins in Sky Casino …one $5 upright in LostTribes and (2) ten dollar slants in Sky.

Wonder the effect on the almost daily regulars who pounded them to achieve Soar status ?

Would appreciate any comments.

I was just there, only for an hour. The 6 in Earth are 5 $1 machines, and 1 which is quarters. I didn’t even go into Sky. Played $1 FP JoB—no momentum dollars of course. I pretty much switched allegiance to FW, where there are still some FP JoB and FP DDB.

Regarding having to use the old machines for parts, newer machines can’t be re-chipped for FPPEM? I think that’s BS. They’ve got short-pay PEM at FW (98.175), and I’m sure they could be upgraded…if FW wanted to with a simple reprogram/chip.

As far as old parts are concerned they might be thinking keys et al. rather than chips. Who knows what’s the truth?

Re Jacks you’re right…

Don’t understand why anyone would play jacks at MS when FW is giving comps for the same?

We’ll see how things change once Encore at Boston opens in a few more months.

Springfield although not having as big an impact as MS and FW thought nevertheless is still drawing 7-8% of their business according to articles that I read.

Encore’s impact will be much greater.

Perhaps related to this or wakening up to the fact that MS does this…For the first time I have been offered 3X TIER CREDIT days at Foxwoods. One in March another in April.

I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for good VP at Encore. A snowball’s chance in hell.

Youre probably right.

However Encore will still have a big impact because VP is a small part of the overall gambling picture.

Besides with people now getting orgasms posting about sub 99% games ( VPFree 2), don’t bet against them treking up to beantown !
