Fw: [acvpp] Why Are The Casinos Complaining?

The following information is about Atlantic City Casinos. I'm sure similar results are found in Vegas and other gaming venues.

The AC casinos (according to the Star Ledger of Jan. 11, 2009) had the following gross revenues:
2005=4.5 billion; 2006=4.8 billion; 2007=5.3 billion; 2008=5.0 billion

In other words, gross revenues in 2008 were higher than in either 2005 or 2006. If they weren't complaining in those years, why are they bitching and moaning now? It's not like revenues fell 50%.

Gross revenues is just part of the equation used to figure net profit though.

I've addressed this on acvpp ... in short, in checking the NJ Casino
Control Commission website, those numbers appear to be seriously
messed up.
