Future retirement to LV

For many years, while living in San Diego, we’ve planned to retire to Las Vegas. Meanwhile, the local casinos have improved significantly, while the ones in Nevada are becoming less inviting to VP players. My latest plan was to live somewhere near Green Valley Ranch. So, I played there some and got good offers. I played heavier, moved up to Platinum, almost to the President level. That’s when my offers dried up. I’d be lucky to get a weekend room with no free play, food comps, gift cards, etc. I played primarily at the $ level on the “Up to 99.8%” machines.

I’d like to get suggestions on how to improve my offers from GVR. Alternatively, I’d like to know about better choices for where to establish before retiring to LV.

We now play primarily at the Four Queens. The rooms, free play, and food are easy to get, and they regularly send other good offers. However, choices for play are limited, and the noise is not good for us. We’re midway through our 60s now.

The only way to get comps at GVR is to lose lots of money. Not trying to be funny just a fact. You made a good choice switching to 4Queens. I would give up on GVR and try Southpoint along with 4Q.

I think you get the best comps in Vegas if you are from out of town. I get offers of gift cards, rooms, events and with a couple visits a year. As for moving to Vegas, try it for 6 months before you sell your home. It's not the Vegas of the 70s

Some 4Q rooms are quiet, but you need to ask for the right rooms.
