Some aren't. The new rooms at Tuscany and Fiesta
Rancho don't appear to be doing that good.

The Silverton put in a new poker room where the players club used to be. I
noticed (several months ago) the only people in the room were the boss and the
dealer talking to each other. I hope by now they've figured out how to
attract players. Also The Tropicana put in a new poker room and when I walk through
once in a while it looks as empty as the Tuscany room.

The "Biggie Fries" thing about Hold'em is the online thing. A local pro
Limit player, Barry Tannenbaum, said in a radio interview. "I go the Bellagio to
play because I have to leave the house sometime."

I don't think poker players are attracted to video poker at all. Most of the
interviews with the big poker stars end up with them negating VP by saying
things like "....and I used to sit at a machine losing money." Poker players
have no clue what we VP players are doing and don't want to learn. But...
us'ins... we can approach live poker with a commanding zeal unmatched even by,
well, Sherman's march to the sea, If I may borrow a quote from Jean Scott.

Imagine being able to make a profit from all the dumb video poker players
instead of from the over 100% plays. That's the difference between poker and
VP, and why so much money is involved.
JT, Still a member of the Bob Dancer fan club but, as we speak, adjusting
the volume on the Kenny Rogers CD.
