Besides single line 10/7 and FPDW what else is there? There are no good
progressives, no Jokers, no more good triple plays, etc.

Right. The vast majority of Orleans patrons are quarter players, so I don't expect that the pay schedule changes will really affect business. On the other hand, it will be interesting to see if their slowing of all FP machines will drive away their core patrons. I think it will. I hope it will.

As for the hopeful notion that the pay schedule change is just temporary during the month of December, my two cents says no. What with MNF 2x points, Tuesday and Friday night 2x points, and Sunday 2x points, the Orleans was already virtually in constant 2x points mode anyway. On the other hand, if business tanks, maybe they will restore them. It's hard to predict what they'll do next; I have no idea why they are messing with success.

OK, you got me. I only play DW and DB and I find it one of the more comfortable places to play, especially since most of the machines are ticket in / out and the newer machines never lock up, even for Royals. Cashback is reasonably generous, as are the monthly mailers with the multiple cash coupons. The new parking garage puts you right by the best machines. And, for a break, there are the two banks of 5c 10/7 3-play progressives. Now, if the Palms had cashback, or more reliable coffee shop food that might make me change my mind.

And, like many others, I'll be surprised if the higher denominations don't come back after 2X ends.

Yes, as a resident of Atlantic City, I really think so, even though I lost. Tons of full-pay machines without regulars hogging every single one was wonderful. If one machine didn't pay, or someone next to me lit up a cigarette, there were many more to choose from.
   Spend a few months in AC and you'll agree.

I think the progressive at The Palms is great! If
only Connexticut and AC would improve their games, it
would stop a few folks from traveling 2500 miles.
