full pay machines

I just left Laughlin and can verify that both Trop and River Palms have pulled their 100% machines.
Except for Aquarius, you shoot yourself in the foot playing any of the machines at these places (and the Belle) as they take 300 dollars for one point and one point is then worthless.

I think people misunderstand Laughlin. It's mostly seniors who are embedded into area. The casino's just don't care. The place is a dump. The buffet's are like a military canteen. The rooms are like barracks. To think there will be any descent play now or in the future is far fetched at best. As the clientèle dies off so will Laughlin.

While it may be true that seniors (snowbirds) converge on Laughlin in the winter time, I was there in October for the CB/EW Octoberfest and younger people FAR outnumbered older people.

Before my visit I received a mailing which entitled me to a free suite upgrade and the suite was anything but an army barracks.

If you persevere and spend time in Laughlin they will treat you well. At least I say that about the CB. Laughlin certainly is a nice, friendly, laid back diversion from the rat race of Vegas. And THAT is how I understand Laughlin after being one of their customers for 19 years.
