There's been a lot of chatter of late on the demise of positive pay
video poker. Some openly advise boycotting but if I were a casino
owner, boycotting by "professionals" would make me cry all the way to
the bank. I simply do not play at a casino without positive VP
(almost the same thing) and advise my friends, who play with an
accuracy of less than positive expectation, to avoid such
casinos.
On the other hand there's another approach a casino can take and some
have. That's those signs on machines that state "certified over 100%
return" plus some fine print. Here comes LOL (that's Little Old
Lady) who spots the sign, plunks herself down and happily disposes of
her bankroll with a playing strategy of hunch and intuition. But her
bankroll does last, on average, a bit longer than usual on a full pay
machine and for that reason there's a chance she will return, perhaps
with friends. That, if I were a casino owner, would make me happy.
And whats more, if LOL is sitting on a positive play machine then one
of us "professionals" has one less seat open. And that too, if I
were a casino owner, would make my day.
