Thanks for your response, Harry. I made a very basic All-American
strategy card for my wife (who doesn't have any interest in learning
more complex stategy) and always wondered how close the
stategy
would be to optimum stategy.

Did you make the simplified startegy chart using FVP? I'm trying to do the exact same thing. We're off to Gulfport this weekend and my wife wants to learn AA. Forget about perfect play but getting close would be nice. For example, combining all of the 3 card royals and putting them above a 4 card flush would simplify the process and eliminate 5-10 steps on the strategy chart. But at what cost?

It would also be nice to be able to copy and paste the charts so you could make any modifications or notations you wanted before printing it.

AA is simply not a beginner's game, that said the simple strategy
would be a modification of the double bonus strategy, something like
this:

5SF>4RF>4SFo>PAT>4FL>3RF>HP>4STo>3SFo-i>
4STi4-3H>3SFdi2H>4STi2H>3SFdi1H>4STi1H>

4STi>3SFdi>QJT>KQJ>3FL2H>2RF2H>

3FL1H>3-2H>KTs>ATs>1H>3STo>3FL

I don't have a copy of fvp, so someone who does will have to provide
the er and variance of this strategy

got it:
5SF>4RF>4SFo>PAT>4FL>3RF>

4STo>3SFo-i>4STi4-1H>3SFdi2-1H>
4STi>3SFdi>QJT>KQJ>3FL2H>2RF2H>

3FL1H>3-2H>KTs>ATs>1H>3STo>3FL

fvp says er=100.6%, variance=26

pat=any made or wining hand except high pair and straight flush
hp=high pair (pair of jacks or better)
4STi4-1H=4 card straight, inside gap, 4-1 high cards
lp=low pair (pair of 2-T)
o=open ended (can be completed on either end: 567)
i=single inside (one internal gap: 578)
di=double inside (two internal gaps: 579)
JTs=jack and ten same suit
