Fremont & 10/7DBVP

Will be staying at the Fremont for four days in April.. I have checked the data
base but it mentions no 10/7 DB. Anyone know if they have any? What are
the rooms and food like? Thanks, Ray

I've stayed at the Fremont a couple of times. Rooms are small but
clean and the bathrooms are very small by today's standards. Food
is a mixed bag. The buffet is not bad for what it is and you can
get a comp for very little play. Tony Roma's is, well Tony Roma's.
If you like ribs you could do worse. They're overwhelmed at the
times of day when they offer specials. They have a little snack bar
I've never tried because it always looked dirty. There are some
negatives (low roof, too much smoke) but the staff has to be the
friendliest people I've ever encountered in a casino. Very few give
off the going through the motions vibe. One other plus, at least to
me, it very easy to park in the hotel garage and access to the
highway is also very straight forward. So getting back and forth to
the strip, outlying casinos or the airport is easy with a rental.

Walk across the street to Four Queens and play their 10/7 DB
progressive bank.

There's also 10/7 DB at Fitzgerald's on the first floor, near the bar
by the gift shop.

I'll second another poster's review of the restaurants at the Fremont,
but haven't tried the Second Street Grill. The snack bar referred to
does serve Kona coffee before 7:30 AM. If you get comped to Tony
Roma's, you get to skip the waiting line. Try the "prime rib" steak,
which is wonderful.

I have -- and believe SS Grill to be the best kept restaurant secret
downtown. ML and I are Gold Card players at MSS which gives us full
comps at all the Boyd downtown properties. We never miss the great
pleasure of dining at SSGrill. IMHO, it's far and away the best of
the Boyd restaurants and easily the equal of the other downtown fine
dining locations.
