FreePlay - Pepps & Nugget

I got $200 FreePlay offer from Pepps - ends Oct 4.
Another $200 offer starts Oct 8. I'll be there to play both.

Two surprises:
NO offer from Silver Legacy.

$230 Freeplay offer from John Ascugia's Nugget, redeemable Oct 8-17.
I'll probably visit to collect that too. The mailer states the offer is generated from my play
there: I was at the Nugget in July for Scrabble tourney, played about 3 hrs per day, 6 days @
25c/50c and $1 single line. That's about 0.75% of 30K coin-in. Not bad.

At JA Nugget, the freeplay is CASH IN HAND.... just go to the cashier
cage near the high limit area and they will hand you cash.

At the Pepp, you have to actually play the money thru the machine
atleast once.

Sigh, no mailed offers for SL VP players. Well the $600 limit
wouldn't be a worry anymore if you are paying for the suite with your
points. I wonder if they are throwing the baby out with the
bathwater on this one and excluding all VP players or just the ones
who play correctly. After all they make perfectly good money on the
vast majority of VP players. I wonder how much play you would need
to do on slots to not be excluded, presumably you could play on
both. It will make SL less crowded which might be nice on weekends,
I suppose.

I don't know about others, but I won't play there anymore. I've been
playing 9/6 DDB plus some slots (<10%) and I can't even get a room
offer. They also won't see my slot playing brother and roulette
playing friend anymore since they only go when I go.

We hope that someone from SL is reading this. Not a far-fetched idea, since
it is known that execs from other Reno properties scour this board for
incriminating info. Finally they can read some bad news for a change. Or
maybe it isn't bad news for them.

Hmmm... I have reservations to stay at the Silver Legacy so maybe I
should give some thought to canceling them and staying elsewhere.
Anyone have any recommendations for a couple of video poker players to
stay and play downtown?

Thanks..

Well, S-L is still tops for full-pay VP in downtown, maybe even in
Reno, with FP 25c Deuces wild and FP 25c kings or better Joker Wild.

Not to downplay our reaction to the Silver's change in promotions, we
should react, but this lull in the bonus cash offers doesn't make
their VP offerings any worse. The bonus cash we were getting used to
was gravy. Plus, I'm hoping the bonuses will return.

Meantime, I'm gonna try my other fave boycotted casino next trip-
Pepps. About 7 miles up Virginia St. toward the airport

If your a visitor, the ELDO has been a better play over Silver for a while.
I love it there !
PS - the deuces and jokers earn very little points at Silver under their new player rating system.

If you play DB (10/7) the Eldorado is your better bet.

There are better deals if you shop around.

There's no reason for them to bring back the bonuses if you continue
to play without them.

Try Grand Sierra, same day cash back is 0.5%, best in Reno. Unlike
most Reno casinos, they actually want your business and treat you like
a customer. The same can be said for Sienna which has the best four of
a kind bonus: $5 on quarters, double on Sunday.

That sienna 4oak bonus - Is the best game eligible for the bonus 8/5 bonus poker, or have they expanded it to Full pay games ?

We can be certain that Silver Legacy will decide whether or not bring
back bonuses based on somewhat rational criteria. Isn't it quite
possible that if their profits rise, they'll be happy with their no-
bonus policy, but if profits fall, they'll be unhappy and know they
need to do something different and perhaps try bringing bonus back?

If that's the case, shouldn't it be our goal to "punish" S-L for
their no bonus decision, by pushing their profits down, inducing them
to change their ways?

And if all this makes sense so far... then logic demands that
skillful players *should* continue to play at Silver Legacy's full
pay Deuces Wild and Joker Poker machines. The more that skilled
players play these machines, the worse it is for S-L's bottom line,
the worse they'll be "punished," and the more likely they'll be
incented to change their ways.

Once they bring the bonuses back, THEN we can reward them by playing
at their casino less.

Stuart (RandomStu)
http://home.comcast.net/~sresnick2/fungames.htm

Or, will they see the concentrated play on that bank of machines and
say.... we need to 'fix' this problem and make them go away?

Doesnt matter to me as I dont play those games, but for those that do?
