Terry; That is how MGM makes money,
those logos are advertisements and that write them off.
They are losing money in Vegas and now try to milk us here.

Subject: [vpFREE_Detroit] FREEBIES: GT vs MGM
Last September, Greektown Casino sent me a card that said, "Come on
down! We have a gift for you on your birthday." So I did, and
thinking I'd get another calculate or coffee mug, went down. Much to
my surprise, they gave me a great piece of American Tourister luggage.
Then Greektown sent me another card that said, "Come on down! We have
another gift for you that will warm you up this Winter." The card had
a picture of a bag of spilled coffee beans on it. Thinking that the
gift would probably a be a bag of coffee beans or a mug, I went down.
Much to my surprise, they gave me a great Proctor Silex coffee maker.
Next, I got a card from MGM that said, "Come on down! We have a gift
for you because we are celebrating our first anniversary of our new
casino, and swipe your card in our kiosk for a bonus." So I did. When
I got to the casino, there were long lines leading out from the
kiosks and the Player's Club. After about a half hour of waiting, I
finally got my gift. Four refrigerator magnets (with MGM logos)and
$15 free play. Better than a stick in the eye, but far short of what
GT gave me.
Conclusion: Why play at another casino when the old treats you just
fine.

PS: My "JOKE-TIONARY OF POKER" book still hasn't been picked up by
any publisher as yet, but I'm not giving up. Currently it's at
Cardoza Publishing and Kensington Press and I'm in the process of
sending it off to Workman Publishing. If I get rejected by them, I'm
off on another project called "TEXAS HOLD'EM TIPS, STRATEGIES, AND
SECRETS" That the pros Don't Want the Fish to Know.
