I'll be visiting Lake Tahoe for the first time for 6 days over Labor Day. Can anyone give me some info of any casinos in the Reno/Tahoe area that offer free play for new sign ups. Thanks DB

Also, in the packet I received Wednesday with my Peppermill room key was a coupon for $10 free play if you sign up for their Passport Rewards Club along with four other various discounts.

Free play at Lake Tahoe for a new card sign up? Mont Bleu gives you $10. At the North Shore you can get the same at Hyatt Regency- Incline Village, Tahoe Biltmore and the Crystal Bay Club ($5 I think). Lakeside Inn had a good sign up bonus at one time, but not so sure now. Horizon gives you a discount booklet, and I believe they still give out the party beads at Harrah's. Whoopie!

Thank you. We are real low rollers and we like to try our luck at different casinos. If anyone knows any other free play offers or decent promos please feel free to post or contact me. Thanks again

If you make it to Reno, I am pretty sure that if you sign up at Circus Circus, they let you play in a daily slot tournament. Also, look (usually near hotel check-ins) for the free "throwaway" newspaper, "Entertainer" (or "Entertainment"). It usually has hads for local promotions.

Another one I forgot is the Gold Dust West-about 5 blocks west of Downtown. They not only give you free play but a GREAT prime rib dinner just for cycling $50 through a VP machine. Casino Fandango in Carson also gives free play if you are going to Tahoe. Plus they have a real nice, neonish casino.

It's "Best Bets" published each Thursday by the Reno Gazette Journal.
