So what happened since the downgrades, Frank? Let me guess, no one played them? It's a sad day. I had such high hopes.

And let me further guess that somehow the suits still don't see the problem in the mirror? I'm very curious what their thinking is.

First, Frank leaves the radio show, then the Palms takes away the FPDW, now the M. Hmmmm, what do all these things have in common? Call me crazy, which you will, could it be some consultants work.

Conclusion: Casino management refuses to give VP AP's any chance to make a living at their expense. If you are not there for entertainment you are not welcome.

Gee-you mean people didn't want to play under 95% games?
Big shock.
Too bad Frank you gave it a try anyways. The pencil pushers could screw up a wet dream/

You may be right, but to be fair, it was probably set up to be way too good to start with. Just think, it started off with a 4% rise on 96%+ games. Minimum cashback was 1/3%, and then they had multipliers. Plus monthly mailers.

And all that might not have been so bad for the casino at quarters, but it was set up for dollars too? The deal was too good! And then when the casino made a "correction", they overcompensated the other direction and flew off the highway and into a ditch.

Of course, I'm armchair-quarterbacking. Let's wait for Frank to tell us what really happened.

Even at a 95% payback, just remember that you can never underestimate the stupidity of casino marketing. Tee hee hee, Math is hard.

What am I missing?

Or is this "tongue in cheek"? (I hope it is.)

LOL. I was not aware that casinos were in business to give VP AP's a chance to earn a living at their (i.e., the casino's) expense.

FK Reply:
I'm afraid that would require Frank knowing what really happened. My stint as a casino consultant consisted of one face to face meeting, a few emails and me recommending what they should put in. At no point in time have I ever recommended removals or changes, other than when I created the list of vpFREE recommendations for M and passed them along unedited. Since then I've been out of the loop.

Here's a reprint of my last two email exchanges with M:

July 28th FK: I didn't ask last time we talked, how's it doing now? Better since the changes?

I hope so!

July 29th M: A little, but they may make me pull them, out of sight out of mind:)

Aug 2nd FK: Subject: Have the progressives been removed? I'm getting emails from people asking if the Max-RF progressive has been removed completely. Is this true?

Aug 2nd M reply:
Yes it s true, remember we talked about it late last week? Maybe it wasn't 100% final? It is now. Sorry!

That was a week's worth of communication. Verbose huh?

Now as far as the Palms is concerned, the extent of my "consulting" was to tell the slot director that there was a lot of negative feedback from the recent inventory change buzzing around the Internet. I got a name and an address for people to write in with advice. Then, I itemized the best suggestions that had already been posted here, and included them in a my own letter. It might interest you to know that at no time did I offer my own opinions, I only passed on the good suggestions others were making. I figured remaining neutral would be best, since there was the possibility that anything I recommended might seem biased. (I didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday...it was at least two weeks ago.)

Obviously, this discussion took place after the removal. My only other suggestion to the Palms before this was, "bring back the better wine outside the high limit room". Now, I have to sit in the Mint and play horrible Bonus Poker machines to get a decent Cabernet.

Does this clear it all up?
Does anyone have any other questions? (I hope not)

Just one. Do you believe time travel is possible?

I have pondered this many times, I do not believe so.

I know what I would do if it was. I would go back and say I love you and goodbye to my Father one last time.

I was with Mom when she passed, but I never got to say goodbye to Dad. It happened without warning, and I have always regretted not being there.

Not sure why you asked about time travel, but this is what comes to mind when I think of it, sorry.

I really wish you could do that. Myself as well would do something similar.
Not sure why I asked either, it's something I think about - Einstein's theory proves it's possible - but whether it could actually be done remains to be seen.

AND THAT IS WHAT I COMPLAINED ABOUT IN THE FIRST PLACE!
Once a "decent" game is gone it never comes back, even if the replacement game is a bust.
M needs to look to bring back some more decent multi line games!

I just noticed a few more than the 13 I previously knew about.
They are upright machines which I think are more comfortable to play.

They are close to the craps games.

This tends to be true, but please understand, they did not take out the game you liked, because they were putting in the max-royals progressive. They were taking out the game you liked anyway. Had we not pitched the max-royals progressive to M, your favorite game would simply have been replaced with something else other than the max-royals progressive.

Your are seeing a correlation where there isn't any. The one event did not create the other.

I was next to him when the casino manager was trying to figure out where to put the new progressives and he said (exact words), "Oh we could put them here, we were taking these out anyway."

I am sharing direct firsthand knowledge.

There absolutely is a correlation. One came out and another went in. What
you meant to say is that the correlation does not imply causation.

Right you are.

And there is no correlation between my mental state and the error, nor is there any causation between what I say and my thinking.
