Are all FPDW games the same, such as two machines that are exactly
alike going to pay the same over the long term. If I pick a machine
that in the first 100 hands never is positive should I move to
another FPDW or stick it out at the original machine?

Changing machines or not doesn't matter. Your odds are exactly the
same whether you stay on one machine all night or move around looking
for a hot machine.
The main thing to keep in mind about odds is that the odds start over
with every hand. Playing FPDW, you have a 45% chance of getting a
scoring hand the first hand you play. If you win the first one, you
have a 45% chance of the 2nd hand being a winning hand.
Alternatively, if you lose the first hand, you still have a 45%
chance of a winning hand on the 2nd one. If you win that one, the 3rd
hand has a 45% chance of scoring. If you win 10 straight, or lose 10
straight, the next one still has the same odds.
Likewise with machines. If you play 100 hands on one machine and lose
all of them, your odds on that machine remain at 45% for the next
hand. If you change machines at that point, you odds on the new
machine are also 45%. No machine is ever cold, no machine is ever due
to hit.
Now, with that said, you will find sometimes that you will sit and
plug away on a given machine and lose, lose, lose. Then you change
machines and suddenly start winning. Does that prove that machine
choice matters? Well, no, because you don't know that your luck
wouldn't have turned at exactly the same point if you had stuck to
the original machine. Nonetheless, the fact of the matter is that you
changed machines and you started winning, and winning is what you
want.
Personally, I change machines a lot. I also use lucky signs, and
hunches, and patterns (none of which I believe in), to break losing
streaks and extend winning streaks. The key is, never go against the
odds, but only use these things to make decisions between two choices
with equal odds (like the decision to change machines - the odds say
it doesn't matter, so if one machine seems cold go ahead and change
to another machine with equal odds). As long as you never go against
the odds, following lucky hunches at worse is a break-even
proposition, and at best it can make you more confident and thus more
attentive to your play and less likely to make mistakes.

If the paytable is EXACTLY the same, the long-term payback percentage
will be exactly the same.
