Anyone ever figured (or care to figure and report) the reduction on
the 100.15% expected return of Loose Deuces Wild using a FPDW
strategy?
Not too bad at 99.96% (answer courtesy of Frugal VP software). Of
course, with near sky high variance I'd never tackle this one without
having the game honed to near perfection.

One difference I noticed is that in LDW with three deuces you are
supposed to toss the Wild Royal, while in FPDW you keep it.
Anyone know the top three FPDW strategy changes that will make the
most improvement in the expected return playing LDW?
zzyzxvault replied:
With two deuces you stand on a SF or better, draw 1 to four of kind
and draw 1 to a four card wild royal (no change from FPDW) but draw
three in all other cases.
Also in 15/8 loose deuces you do not draw to AT2, AJ2, AQ2 or AK2 (no
matter what other two cards you are tossing) -- you hold only the 2.
I don't know the effect on expected return of these two additional
strategy changes but my guess is that they are probably among the
most important if not significant to expected return (an easiest to
remember).
Remeber, straub, that in FPDW you also hold 5K (T-A) over 222 (but
break any other 5K; having twice the shot at a WRF, no elements
discarded, makes holding just the ducks the move in that case). As
you would expect, LD strategy change is you break the 5K (T-A) for the
deuces as well.
zzy adds one major change for 22, and notes a more modest change to
advanced FPDW strategy where you otherwise hold Ax2 when there's no
penalty card present (modest, but key, nonetheless).
Augmenting FPDW strategy with these changes and applying it to 15/8 LD
results in a 100.13% ER. (Damn sharp, guys!)
Again, this adjusted ER was run with FVP. I expect a closer
examination of individual hold ER's offered up by the software would
quickly yield one or two other changes that would get you up to 100.15%.
