FPDW question

Sorry for the N00B question but...

Where is the best FPDW in vegas (payout + CB)? Also, how do the
progressives work for this game (are they ever less than 800x for a
royal?)

I am a long time table gamer thinking of making the switch...

Sorry for the N00B question but...

Where is the best FPDW in vegas (payout + CB)?

The question is pretty subjective, however you will find all the locations
and denominations of FPDW on the cross directory page here:
http://members.cox.net/vpfree/CDDW.htm .
From there you can click each casino link to go to their page and it will
tell you who has the best cash back. Unfortunately, this is only the
beginning of the chore. At quick glance, I believe that Southpoint,
http://members.cox.net/vp_free/SOUT.htm has the best cashback rate of .3%,
but the bad news is the version of the game is snoozy deuces. Machine speed
is about an IGT 3 or 4. Speed is an important factor for your potential
gain in this gain. Almost all players will fall somewhere between 8 and 17
hands per minute, so as you can see, the range differential is quite large.
A 480 HPH quarter player can expect an hourly rate of $3.66, while a 1,020
HPH player will average $7.77 per hour in the long term. If you consider
playing a blazing fast machine , but the casino offers only a .1% CB rate,
you would have to triple your speed to equalize the rate. Even taking the
low end speed of 480, attempting to triple it to 1,420 is a sure plan to
eliminate your game edge. Anyone that tells you that they can accurately
play 1,420 HPH is a liar, either to you to themselves, or both.

If you've picked your game, casino, CB rate and your speed of play, there
are still more considerations. Will you find a casino that will offer you a
higher point earning rate once you reach a certain coin in level in a stated
time period, like Coast properties do? A big factor is if you are a local
or not. Comped rooms and meals may be a big point for a tourist, but not
much to sway a local. A much more personal determination is how much of a
value will you assign to other benefits of a slot club, such as free car
wash coupons, free movie tickets, spa treatments and such.

Also, how do the
progressives work for this game (are they ever less than 800x for a
royal?)

There are only a few quarter progressives currently here in Vegas where the
base game is FPDW. Fiesta Rancho and Palms, both technically do not offer
cash back, but FR will turn points to FP, and at certain times Palms will
offer cash redemptions, and the Skyline casino does not have a slot club.
All of these start with and 800 to 1 payoff at reset and are progressive on
the royal only. Since it has been quite some time since I posted this, I am
including this chart that shows the climbing royal strike totals on the left
and the specific hand holds to change on the right.

This is a great answer... I was planning on hitting South Point and
Palms anyway. I would be very happy with a $5/hr avg (plus
comps/points; I did not mean cash back on my original message).

Many thanks and can't wait to hit the machines.
