And you are probably correct. Generally, web groups like these are good to
belong to, but not when we start to demand better paytables and point out
exactly where they are lacking or going "downhill". This is equal to slot
players demanding that the casinos replace the regular slots with ones that
pay out over or near 100%.
You would think, "Well, then the casinos would go broke and close down", but
it'll never happen even at 100% on any machine as long as people don't walk
away when they are ahead, even on a small win. Too many people put all of
their wins right back into a machine figuring they are playing with the
casino's money and will 'only play down to the original investment', but then
continue to play out all of the credits anyway.
I believe the full or near-full pay VP is more important to those who spend
hours and hours playing this game and hope that luck will still shine down on
them for a bit of a profit in the long run. The better paytables definitley
help, but the big hands are what make an occasional gambler a profit. (If
they cash out.......)

The real gem of wisdom there is the fact that even fpvp produces a profit
for the house, generally of 2% to 5%. So why create the ill will among a
small but important segment of the market, unless that segment is viewed as
not so important after all, or is a lot smaller than many of us think it is?
Otherwise, it's just a bad marketing decision. The ill will is already
carrying over to many of us who are not fulltimers or even locals.

But the sad fact is that this issue will be between locals and casinos,
since many of us who hit town only a few times a year rarely walk into a
Coast property. BC is a place many visitors spend maybe 15 minutes in on
the way from the Flamingo to Caesars or Bellagio, and likewise people who
stop at Rio and figure they might as well spend a few minutes at GC as long
as they're in the neighborhood. It may just be that a lot of heavy players
will have to re-examine their priorities in the future, just like the rest
of us have to do when something bad affects our business, stocks, pension
plans, etc.
