hole in the bar area. Bartender had no idea if and when it would be

That hole is also called "Mel's hole" It was the subject of a five hour
radio program on the Art Bell show. Nobody knows how deep the hole is.
Scientists dropped a long line with a microphone down a long ways and heard screaming
sounds of tortured fleas (quarter advantage players) as if the edge of Hell
was reached.
