I saw people signed up for the slot tourney at Mohegan. How does one get
invited to these? I give them a good size amount of action so I thought I
would get invites. Perhaps they figure I will be there regardless!

Regarding side trips to Vegas. There is no equal to Las Vegas but when
Mohegan is just an hour away it is difficult to justify a 5 hour flight
across the country. On the other hand when Mohegan pulled several $1 9/6
over the summer I quickly booked a trip to Vegas. I see the $1 are back so
I stay in CT.

My spouse who plays slots was the one invited and played in the
tourney, I was merely her guest. Several yeaars ago a helpful host
explained the rating system to me. My spouse and I were each earning
about the same # of comp points based on 1/80 of the action (for
slots and $1 or higher vp). However for purpopes of such perks as
lounge passes, free concert tickets, tournaments, etc., they look
at "theoretical loss" which is based on the total action times a
percentage which varied according the general type of game played. I
don't remember the exact percentages I was told (and the info was
several years old), but it was a litle more than 3.0% for vp and over
twice as high for slots. Thus my spouses rating was over twice as
high. Thereafter I have often played on her card as high-roller perks
are generally for 2. [At a table game a floor man told me that comps
there were based on time and average bet, but the percentage doubled
if the average bed were $25 or higher.]
