Hi,
I've been reading posts for a while and thought I'd post. I'm
relatively new to video poker, never had a royal except on Frugal.
Yesterday my husband and I went to Foxwoods. I found all the quarter
machines in the room near the bingo hall. The only descrepancy is
that the four of a kind bonus orange ones pay 800, not 900 for 4
aces. The 50 cent machines in Great Cedar pay 900 for 4 aces. I
played the DJ quarter machines, cashed out about $100 ahead, $60
after about an hour and $40 after another 45 minutes. I tend to play
for a while, check on my husband playing BJ in Rainmaker, come back.
We also played the 8/5 quarter JOB in Great Cedar, I was teaching my
husband simple correct strategy. After an hour, we were both down
$20. My best hits of the day were 125 coin 4OAK on JOB and a
straight flush on DJ. The 8/5 JOB were not TITO, had to wait almost
25 minutes for a hopper fill when I cashed out.
One note about BJ at Foxwoods. We were surprised at the number of
$10 and $15 tables. In the past, during the week, we had seen one or
two $10 and 5-6 $15. There were 3 $10 tables and somewhere between
12-15 $15 tables, and seats were available (not many, but some). In
the past we have had to wait to get on a table.
We ate at the buffet with points (mostly), it is not as good as it
used to be. One thing, they supposedly offer a steak cooked to order
for an additional $2.50 for lunch and dinner S-TH. When I asked for
it, the cashier ignored me and rang us up for two buffets. I had to
pay a couple of bucks toward the meal and didn't notice until I was
waiting to be seated that she didn't charge me for it. However, I
didn't see a station for steaks and nobody had one.
Double points is alive and well this month, sure does make a
difference in quarter video poker.
Thanks for all the great information. I'm going back tomorrow with a
friend who couldn't join us yesterday and will give the DJ another
go.
