Foxwoods VP comp downgrade to 0.36% ($275 coin-in = 1 pt)

I noticed this new comp rate today on the $1(25 coin) 9/6 JOB machines in the Great Cedar High Limit room. I guess if you owe a couple of billion dollars and can't make the interest payments, you have to get the money from somewhere.

In the past year, I've seen the coin-in go from $140 = 1pt, to $220 = 1pt to $275 = 1pt, or the rate go from .71% to .45% to .36%. The good thing is that I won't see the rate go any lower. If the rate does change however, could someone post a message to the group? I'll be investing over at the Mohegan Sun. At $150 = 1 pt coin-in (.66%) and double points this Friday, I find the decision a no-brainer.

The 4 $1(25 coin) uprights in the back of the Hampton Club of the Grand Pequot Casino are still $220 coin-in = 1 pt. The Great Cedar High Limit room machines are the only ones where I've seen the downgrade to $275 = 1pt. My advice is to clock the machine you want to do serious play on to see if the comp rate is agreeable to you. Or just play at the Mohegan Sun where all the machines are $150 = 1 pt.

I've been clocking the $1 machines again in the various areas over the last couple of weeks. I'ts taken me awhile as you have to put quite a bit of coin through it to get an accurate reading. It also took them awhile to update the machines to the new comp rate in the various areas.

Here is my current data. Basically, I believe all the (at least the ones I've checked) $1 machines have been downgraded to $300 coin-in = 1 pt (.33%). I'm not sure about the quarter machines but I hope to be able to clock one of them soon. I updated the Foxwoods area of the vpfree2.com web site to reflect this information and am posting a new message to the New England site.

15 Feb Great Cedar High Limit $1 (25 coin) machines $275 = 1 pt (probably $300 = 1 pt like the rest of them)
22 Feb MGM High Limit $1 (25 coin) machines $300 = 1 pt
23 Feb Hampton Club $1 (25 coin) machines $300 = 1 pt
23 Feb 4 Slant tops $1(25 coin)outside Hampton Club $300 = 1 pt
27 Feb Great Cedar $1(10 coin) 98.91% Las Vegas Airport Deuces Wild (8 uprights) $300 = 1 pt

The quarter video poker machines turned out to also be $300 coin-in = 1 pt (.33%). I'll update the vpfree2.com web site.

Looks like the point reduction covers slots as well as VP. Was a FW yesterday with my wife who played slots. She did not "clock" the machines, but in a healthy session that would typically yield 50 or so base points, she earned 15. I played a very limited session of DD because of the reduced points. We wound't likely be going back, in spite of free play offers.

I don't know what the thinking is at FW, are they trying to starve the stores and resturants?

I inquired at the Dream Rewards booth on Thursday night as to what the coin-in
amount was for one point. The immediate response was "I think 180". When I said
that it seemed much higher, the boothling went into the office to check, and
sheepishly told me when she returned that it was 340!. I asked what my coin-in
was, and based on the points earned it definitely was higher than 300, perhaps
not a full 340. But either one is pretty astronomical.

That puts Gold at a minimum of $240K and Platinum ar $600K, per six month period

I will take your number of $340 per point under advisement for posting to the vpfree2.com web site. I will double check the boothling's numbers next time I get the urge to play big at Foxwoods again. That urge may take awhile though.

I've noticed that both the Sun and Foxwoods tend to have more double point promotions the month before their tier level accrual period ends. For the Sun (April 1 to Oct 1, and Oct 1 to April 1), that is March with 3 double point days and last September there were at least two double point days. Foxwoods (Jan 1 - July 1, July 1 - Jan 1) had double point days in December. Foxwoods may need to go higher than double points to get me back on their 9/6 JoB machines for an extended playing session with the Sun's double points yielding $75 per point (1.33%). The Sun was hard to pass up yesterday (as it will be Tuesday and Wednesday March 15 and 16 for their next two double point days).

On Sat nite 3/19 I ran $110 thru a $ slot. Still $110 = 1point. VP is definitely $300 = 1pt. Also, Player lounge hosts told me big changes coming for lounge criteria access/comping etc. will take effect 5/1 instead of 4/1 as had been scheduled.
