Foxwoods: Obtaining room comp worth it?

IMHO: I have no time for Foxwoods any longer. It is a beautiful casino with
beautiful rooms and nice restaurants and I've always had fun there. However,
it takes A LOT of play to get a free room, and a LOT MORE to get one on a
weekend. There is maybe 2 or 3 playable VP machines (last I looked 10/05) in the
"largest casino in the world". It is so crowded on weekends that you can't
even get onto a $25 min blackjack table, and the craps tables are always full.
They stop serving alcohol at 2:00 am (maybe even 1:00 am) and don't serve
again until 11:00 am-except on Sun when it's later. The mailed offers from
Foxwoods are a joke. Most can't be used on a weekend.
Now that AC has an abundance of JOB, I have gotten free rooms there with no
problem. Plus there's the ocean and marina (aesthetic values). In addition,
you are not confined to one casino. You are free to hop from one to another
within a short walk or a 10 minute drive to the marina. It took us very little
time to get established in AC.
I would go back to Foxwoods if I had a good opportunity to enjoy a mini
vacation, but not on a weekend and not to think I would make any money. Don't
forget, Foxwoods (with Mohegan Sun) have a monopoly on casino partons from all
of New England along with many from NY.
Enjoy yourself but be forewarned.
BTW, if you are going-check out the coupons in Casino Player and American
Casino Guide.
Just my biased opinion.

I'm going to Foxwoods in November, and was on vpfree exploring a room
comp. It seems that with the low denom full pay machines (.25c only?)
and the fact that I'm only there Fri-Sun, obtaining a room comp may be
tough. Any thoughts?

You have pick'em and a couple surviving Jacks machines for dollars at
MHS, and you have Jacks all over AC with better programs. $10K ci a
day gets you room offers from Borgata, while the program isn't so
great, the rooms are and who can argue with that? As a matter of fact,
guess who I named #1 Burn Joint for VP?

Feel the same way about Foxwoods and the Sun. I remember driving down 95 one day afer a night at FW and saying what the heck am I doing here At least in A/C you can walk away from it for a while. In A/C I am CRFB and if I go down on a Sunday we get a suite.
