Foxwoods JWD VP 3x Points

Foxwoods JWD VP 3x Points Sunday

Decided to take my own advise and make the 2:15 hour trek to
Foxwoods to take advantage of the 3X point offer. My only
opportunity was Sunday and it was the last day of 3x points. Again I
figured I better get there early so as not to be shut out of a
machine.

I got there at about 7:15 AM (left home at 5:00 AM) and had my
choice of 4 of the 5 $0.25 JWD machines. Points were as indicated
multiplying at 3x the normal rate so was gettting 2.10% in comps.

I played until about 2:00 PM, with only a brief bathroom break about
11:00 AM. A friendly abutter from West Haven agreed to "guard" my
machine during the bathroom break in which I left my players card
and a $1.25 balance in the machine for added insurance that someone
would be less likely to highjack it.

Although I was up a couple hundred for the year playing JWD here, I
lost a couple hundred on Sunday playing 6 plus hours: No Royal, No
Wild Royal, and only two 5-of-a-kind. I was overdue for a Wild
Royal, but it never happened.

I've never played VP more than two or three hours straight before
without a significant (1 hour or longer) break in between. After
about four hours the behind started to hurt and after about 5 hours,
there would be brief periods where I just stare at the screen as
long as thirty seconds or so, before my brain could finally refocus
on which cards to hold and why. So my hands per hour diminshed the
last hour or so.

Also during the last hour, on a draw, I realized that I had thrown
away a Joker - ouch. And about 45 minutes later when I did it again,
I knew it was way past the time to leave.

I had a $25 MP that I thought I might use at blackjack to recoup a
fast $50, but it only put me $25 more in the hole when the dealers 5
became the dealers 15, and ultimately part of the dealers 20 against
my hard 17.

Anyway, I more than scrathed my video poker itch on Sunday. I did
manage to accumulate about $75 in comp points playing just quarters
x 5 at VP.

So with a Casino Player Magazine $50 off a room coupon, that should
at least pay for a weeknight stay at Great Cedar or the Grand Pequot
Towers. (I hate the Two Trees Inn (TTI) even though the rates may be
cheaper. Especially in cold or rainy weather treking across the
parking lot I really don't feel connected to the Casino -- and the
walls at TTI are paper thin .

Without points multipliers at Foxwoods, I guess it will be back to
the usual $1.00 Pick'Em at Mohegan. Though I'll be leaving
Thanksgiving Day for my annual Vegas vacation for a week. I'll be
staying mostly at Green Valley Ranch (GVR) in Henderson and probably
playing mostly FPDW at GVR, Fiesta Henderson, and Casino Monte Lago
(CML) at Lake Las Vegas. CML also has $0.50 Pick'Em with freeplay
comps. Also I'm planning to try out a couple of low roller locals
casinos along the Boulder Highway that have some 10 coin FPDW at the
$0.25 level (essentially a $0.50 x 5 FPDW game).

Closer to the the Strip, I'll be playing at the Palms on their $0.25
FPDW Progressive machines and at the Hard Rock that also has a few
10 coin FPDW at the $0.25 level (again essentially a $0.50 x 5 coin
game).

Hope somebady finds some of this rambling post useful :).

I went there Thursday night to to the same against my bettor(er)
judgement. I am not an atmosphere snob; in Vegas I will play the prog.
$1 DB at 4 Queens and NSU dueces at 5x points at Ellis Island (Motel
6). However the atmosphere at 'Woods with that public announcement
system is the worst playing environment I know other than McCarren
Airport. Wouldn't it make sense for Foxwoods to help the bus companies
abtain wrist worn vibrators (like at Cheescake factory) to let their
flock know when they are overdue?

On Wednesday I played another 19+ hour marathon and over $8300 coin-
in. Until a week before that, I never played more than 10 hours in a
day. I lost $170, $100 of it all in the last hour when I probably was
not the most accurate. I earned $178 in Wampum points. So I netted
about the same as a Nike sweatshop worker. I was curious to see what
kind of offers I can receive out of a quarter game there. I went to
the player's club lounge, the lowest level of lounges; they swiped my
card, and I still did not automatically qualify. They call the manager
who sees my numbers and lets me in anyways which they sometimes do.
But overall it's an inexpensive way to mentally prepare for a similar
one-day marathon at the Sun at $1 PKM in order to raise my comp level.
