Subject: True Believer?

My glass is full, because it has to be full. What
would the alternative be to losing our freedom and this
wonderful country? The alternative is unthinkable, so
my glass HAS to be full and I have to be optimistic.
But I'm not stupid, Jigger. I know history, and what I
see happening today is quite alarming. If you are not
alarmed, then for whatever reason, whether it be youth,
plain generic ignorance, or whatever, then you just don't
know. What is it that makes you so "fairly certain
we'll be alright"? A hunch? A gut feeling?
rotflmao! It's a privilege to be in a country where
you can afford to be blissfully ignorant of the past. Lucky
you!

I am lucky. Corrrect. You are too. Do you study history?
The Depression and the attempts to overthrow the government?
From FDR himself when he tried to change the constitution to
put 6 more justices on the bench - so they would do things
the way he wanted? Ever heard of the Kingfish? WWII - just
a walk in the park compared to what we face now, right? In
spite of what FAUX News tells us, the function of government
is to serve the poeple. The problem is when it doesn't
serve the way some think it should then we are on the wrong
track - Chicken Little syndrome.

Blissfully ignorane of the past? Hardly. The past is whet
I do for a living. Oh, and how it influences our world
today. You can attack me for many things, but ignorant of
the past is not one of them.
