There is a couple who frequent the Barbary Coast and their method of play is
to only put $10 into a quarter machine. If they lose it, they move to another
machine. If they double their money, they take the win and move to another
machine. This system seems to work for them b/c I have seen them still at it
for several years.
On the other hand, I have personally spent up to 16-17 hours per day on a
single 100P nickel machine trying to earn drawing tickets for an advantageous
drawing. I have done this at least 10 times. It is educational to ride the
swings. And, believe me, there are huge swings. During most sessions of 16-17
hours, you could count the "good" hands on one of your hands. There is a lot of
'down' for a very few 'ups'. Of course, some of those 'ups' more than make
up for the 'downs'. My best 'up' so far is dealt deuces. Still waiting for
