Flushing It Out of Vegas - In Search of the Elusive Royal-Day 9

Thanks Babe! It is so nice of you to invite me back to Las Vegas. I
hope we will have some more interesting adventures to relate.

We really hit the mark this trip that we had set for ourselves and
strangely, even after sooo many trips, I feel that I am only now
beginning to become a real vp player.

As recreational players, with a fairly small bankroll, we would not be
unhappy with break-even trips with comped rooms and food. A little
profit would be even better. We are figuring out how to achieve that
and I also have a better handle on just how much study it takes to
wheedle the house edge down as far as possible.

The little things sure count as Jean has taught us time and time
again. Like the scratch cards at MSS - they add almost half a percent
to our JoB play. (I created a version of JoB in WinPoker that has an
extra 9 coins for a quad and ran the Game Analysis). Add meal and room
comps and cashback and we have a positive play. (But you gotta get the
royals).

Next stop for us is to learn some of the higher payback games that are
still available downtown - primarily DB. We are a bit concerned about
the volatility but with lots of study at least our play will be as
close to perfect as we can get it for next trip.

And, we are also hoping for some decent free room offers up front,
based on our play this trip. I'm sure that will happen.

As Canadians it is difficult for us to play higher denominations
because any win over $1200 is taxed at 30%. Presuming we win all year,
we won't get it back.

I've been thinking that games with more intermediate mini-jackpots
might be acceptable to play at higher denominations as long as the
Royal doesn't account for too much of the total EV. Pick'Em would have
been perfect for this. (Why am I always getting on the train just as
its taken out of commission?)

Good thing we enjoy the strategizing!

To the next trip,

R.F.

Dear Mr. Flusher,

I am almost as sorry as you are, that your trip has ended! I will
so miss your daily reports with the whimsical play-by-play notes,
restaurant and casino reviews, and your humorous descriptions of the
denisons of downtown LV!

Please come back to the desert paradise soon. When you do, I hope
that you will continue to treat us to your delightful writing style.
It's been a privilege for me to enjoy your trip vicariously!

Best regards,
~Babe~
