This is being answered by a "non-smoking, older" vp player.

To address your smoking concerns. While there is less smoking in LV
than there was in past years, smoking in casinos is pervasive. There
are very few N/S areas and some of them have little fullpay vp.
Additionally, some smokers decide to play in the one N/S area that
is available. Sometimes they will leave if advised of the N/S
status, others will not w/o a fuss involving casino personnel. If
either of you is allergic to smoke, you may be in for some rough vp
sessions and plenty of moving around.

I think that Skip's list is an excellent resource in selecting a
host casino. The most accurate, current vp inventory information
can be found on this site. In order to access the inventory at any
casino, go to the Home Page and click on Casino Data Base Index.
Then click on Las Vegas Index & Summary. Then click on "Blue" Casino
Link for all the casinos at which you are staying. In the right
hand column under Best Games Summary, you will find all the fullpay
vp games offered by your host casinos. This information is updated
frequently by our great administrator. I've found it to be an
invaluable resource.

If you enjoy doing lots of casino hopping, unless you want to play
only at adjacent casinos, you might want to rent a car during the
time you're at the Stardust. That might be less expensive than
taking several cabs per day. The casinos that you have selected in
North LV are w/i walking distance of each other, IF you are GOOD
walkers, and don't mind walking in the Sept. heat. You would know
this better than anyone else. I have found that Budget is usually a
good rental resource in LV.

I think that you'll LOVE the vp in North LV. I do! It is really
the quarter player's paradise. On the "Optimum VP" machines (FPDW,
FPKBJW, FPJOB & 10/6DDB) at Fiesta Rancho, you can play the same
pay schedule for nickles as for quarters! The Optimum banks only
award half of the comp points that the other vp does, but in my
opinion, it's worth the trade-off.

The FR awards 5X points on Friday, and 3X points (for Seniors) on
Wed. You must sign up for this at a kiosk or the Amigo Club.

I wish you the best of luck, and hope I've been of some help.

Do tell your wife that I think she's got a very special husband!
