There was an early bug that could have caused this FVP behavior. All you need to do is install the update available at...

Also, you should delete any of your old Joker sessions, as if you replay errors, the second joker could appear again.
The update is 1.1.0.10. The most significant changes in this update are...
- Renamed the GWS.dll that some spyware programs misidentified as spyware. Actually, the WS stands for Wave Sound, and this file contains the music for the game.
- In Deuces Deluxe and NSUD, a strategy combination wasn't properly identified - the JQK combo.
- Fixes a problem with renaming a strategy chart
