As I was leaving MS on Sunday I was confronted by a cloud of smoke on
the 3rd floor of the parking deck. As I walked towards my car I could
see flames shooting up to the ceiling in the opposite direction.
Apparently someone's car had caught on fire. The local fire department
quickly responded and seemed to have it under control as I managed to
leave in one piece. A casino security employee wanted people to hold
off on leaving while the fire department dealt with the problem. To
this I and several others said no thanks, we weren't about to find out
if we would be targets of any explosions. As the outer perimeter to
the down ramp was unobstructed and away from the fire leaving was the
only prudent thing to do. Hopefully everyone else made it out safely.
The lesson learned from this is park only next to new vehicles or
those which look properly maintained otherwise park remotely and spend
a few minutes walking. Although this could happen to anyone I'm
willing to bet the vehicle that went up in flames was of the "beater"
variety.
Don & Mike's progressive wasn't quite so hot. In fact it was downright
frigid. When I left the progressive was $5400+. If someone has the
more current figure please post.
