I will make my 1st visit to Reno Sept 9th and 10th. Please excuse any
silly questions I might ask.
There are no silly questions, only silly people... errr, or something like that.
Good luck and enjoy your first trip to Reno. My wife and I are relatively new converts to Reno (previously frequenting Vegas, and still doing occasional trips to Atlantic City since we can easily drive there) and we love the gambling choices in Reno ... hope you do too!
1. Where is the best place to play for future offers for a $10,000 to
$15,000 day coin-in player? (most coin-in will be on multi-play JOB
or NSUD hopefully)
We've settled at Peppermill, which has tons of multiline JOB and NSUD -- including "regular" multilines, SpinPoker and SpinPoker Deluxe, Multistrike, Super Times Pay -- in a wide range of denominations. We play a fair bit more than you suggest, so can't give first-person info on comps at your level, but generally, Reno offers seem to be at least as good as other gambling destinations.
2. What are the chances of getting a seat at Big Split Poker at
Peppermill on Tues or Wed?
Pretty good, I expect. Even on weekend (Fri/Sat) evenings we've rarely had a problem getting a seat at these games.
3. Do players get free drinks? (most likely a silly question)
Yes. Enjoy... but remember that your video poker skill will probably suffer a bit if you take full advantage of this benefit.
4. What does the LIFO mean after the comps info on the Peppermill
database page? (couldn't find it in the glossary)
LIFO = "Last In, First Out". This means that your most recently earned comps ("last in") will be used immediately ("first out"), and then older comps will be used if needed. This is disadvantageous for the player, because earned comps expire after a year, so if you happen to earn comps faster than you use them, your old ones may get backlogged and then expire before you can use them. To help avoid this, use the kiosks, slot desk, and/or hosts to get an understanding of what comps you have accumulated, and then take full advantage of them via the nice restaurants, spa, etc.
Have a great time in Reno!
