First Trip - Misscrap's Tour

Yes I believe everything I described was free except for a few extra charges
such as the Eiffel Tower ride (unless you have a Harrah's comp!) and
Guggenheim Museum (unless you get a Venetian comp). You may be able to get discount
coupons or 2 for 1s for these too.

There are other things along the way with extra charges I didn't mention - I
was trying to give you the freebie tour, like riding in the Gondola at the
Venetian (do the one upstairs on the 2nd floor - it is airconditioned and
longer) - though that is a bit pricey, still some people love it.

Taking a camera along is a good idea as well - there is a lot to take
pictures of. You can also have someone take a nice picture of you in a picturesque
spot in front of some nice fountains (Caesar's has some great locales). I
always see people doing weird photos at night or in front of a blank wall.
With so many nice pictures to take, why take these bad ones?

Also I left out visiting the Flamingo since I tried to give a route that had
the most to see and the least walking. The Flamingo has a great garden that
includes a nice "creek" with various birds and even some neat penguins.
They feed the penguins and give a nature talk on them at various times during
the day. And of course there are flamingos. There are colorful carp in the
creek too. I guess I really should have mentioned it, and if you have the time
and energy, you can easily add it into your jaunt.

For animal lovers there are several interesting things to see. Flamingo
garden, white tiger at Mirage, Siegfried & Roy's garden with dolphins (for an
extra fee) and other animals, lions at MGM (free), aquariums (Caesar's big
tanks, Mirage check-in area, Caesar's seahorses), Shark Reef (for a fee -
Mandalay Bay), some ducks in ponds in front of Mirage, pigeons (around town!).

For people with more time and a car - you can ride out to Red Rock Canyon
and/or Mt. Charleston for some scenic views. There is a National Park charge
for Red Rock Canyon, but seniors get in free as do their entire carload (and I
believe anyone over 60 or perhaps 62 is a senior). You can also drive to
Lake Meade and see it and Hoover/Boulder Dam.

If you are spending weeks in Vegas and want to drive further, you can reach
Zion National Park in 2 hours, also Mesquite Nv on the same trip, and a bit
longer ride to get to the west side of the Grand Canyon. Valley of Fire is
within a car ride.

Other interesting non-casino sties: The Atomic Museum, Elvis Museum,
Liberace Museum, Natural History Museum - to name only a few (require fees).

Another free Vegas site - people watching. Just plop down on any bench, or
grab a curbside table (such as outside at Paris's Mon Ami Gabi restaurant),
Margaritaville (Flamingo), etc. You are sure to see the classic sight of a
bride and groom in full dress sooner or later, and lots of interesting people.

For First Time visitors, be careful to protect valuables (do not put purses
on the floor or hang bags on chairs behind you) [see article on my website
about Theft _http://members.aol.com/GamblingE_
(http://members.aol.com/GamblingE) ). Also be careful when walking - do not jaywalk & never trust a cab to
stop for a wayward pedestrian!

Have fun -- Miss Craps.

Unfortunately the penguins have been moved to the Fort Worth, Dallas Zoo which is what the
signs said in what used to be their enclosure, when I wanted to show a friend around the
sights of LV ten days ago. There was no other explanation on the signs we saw and I was
wondering if anyone knew why this had been done. The Koi (carp), flamingoes and other
assorted ducks and turtles are still there, but our little tuxedoed friends are regrettably gone!
