First time to vegas report

I just want to thank everyone for the help that is given on this
board. I have been lurking for awhile and have just returned from
vegas today. For the past few months I have been practicing JOB 9/6 on
the winpoker shareware.

In vegas I stayed at the Imperial Palace(never again) and played my
video poker at The Palms. First of all, I want to say I love the
layout at the Palms and the atmosphere. There was a large inventory
of JOB 9/6. I found the 50 play md of job and loved it. I played 50
play penny with 5 cents per hand. It turns out to be 250 pennies per
spin. My wife and I did very well on this machine. We were up a few
bucks but that is after paying for meals and tips.

I played a little .25 job 9/6 but it seemed the money went pretty
quick on these machines. Although I pretty much evened out on the .25
machines, I think if I would have only played these machines I may
have lost a lot of money.

I absolutely loved playing VP and am so happy I learned the srategy
before going. I was watching many people play and lose quickly
because they didn't know the strategy.

I want anyones opinion of the 50 play penny machine and any
experiences with .25 JOB.

I just purchased winpoker 6.0 tonight and wondered what other game i
should learn before returning to vegas. Which other games have others
had experience that gave a good return and kept you playing for the
longest period of time.

I am sorry for the rambling but I am now excited about playing, now
that i actually played the real thing.

I will be returning to the palms and maybe try downtown for some VP.
Any other suggstions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

P.S. the database was right on for JOB at the palms

I love the

Mike : 50 play penny machines (if full pay) are a great idea. You will reduce the volatility of the game quite a bit. You are playing $2.50 per hand but your money should last longer than on a comparable single line quarter machine.

The best games to play and learn (in addition to JB) in my opinion are Full pay deuces, Full pay jokers, and full pay pick-em .
Jokers and deuces have a high return and pick-em is extremely easy to play perfectly. Another possibility is full pay double bonus and all american but these are very difficult games to master.

I would place the games in the following order.

Full pay jacks or better (relatively easy to find in major strip resorts, low volatility, root of all other VP games) .
Full pay deuces ( great return, fairly easy to learn, moderate volatility, not found in major strip resorts) .
Pick_em (very easy to learn, low volatility, found in mid level casinos, break even game)
Jokers wild ( great return, more difficult to learn, moderate volatility, not found in major strip resorts).
Double bonus( good return, more difficult to learn, higher volatility, wider distribution than jokers or deuces).
All American (great return, very difficult to learn, moderate volatility, hard to find).

  Regards
