First TIme in Las Vegas...

You asked for suggestions for affordable hotels in the vicinity of the Strip.

Someone mentioned that Gold Coast would be a good choice.

I agree but think that the Tuscany would be even better. It's only about four blocks east of the center Strip. The video poker isn't great, mostly 8/5 Bonus Poker in 25c and higher but Ellis Island is just around the corner and has better video poker. Recently a friend of mine got a $35 midweek rate per night including fees and taxes at Tuscany just by calling them on the phone.

Hey Group,

I'm on the east coast and am looking into making my first trip out to LV and am very excited!! I'm not really looking for all the lights and glamour of The Strip, however, I am planning on visiting of course.

I'm trying to keep this as affordable as possible considering that I will have to include round-trip airfare in my Bankroll...therefore, I'm considering staying somewhere Off-Strip on my trip.

I'm looking for advice and suggestions that you locals might have as far as inexpensive, (relative to Strip), accomodations along with vicinity to Strip and good selection of VP games... I'm a big-time walker so I'm definitely accustomed to walking to destinations, within reason
