Me too...but to the origal poster,
My First royals are now also improbable weekend stories, ok!
I hope you took pictures, or someone else did. Things change so fast.
My first was at Westward Ho! Anyone remember this joint? It closed November
23, 2005... a Friday. I got it about my 5000th lifetime hand...1993, which
took the pressure off.
A hand-pay playing those Jasks/progressives for $1,332. I tipped the change
cart gal, no one else.
My fantastic weekend was January 1999, at the Riverside. Within 36 hours,
two $1k 9/6 Jacks royals, a winner in the daily drawing to be elected King of
Marde Gras ($500 cash and dinner for two with one ticket in the drum) and all
with a gal on our first out-of-town trip. Those slow clunker IGT uprights are
long gone too since 2000.
My two bartop machines at Main Street Station are gone where I royaled. The
Golden Nugget Laughlin didn't just rip out the game, but the whole friggin'
bar (Cheetahs) is gone, soon after a quarter royal. Landrys sucks.
My Mom's upright Game King where she was dealt a royal is toast at the River
Palms in Laughlin. This was just the other day that they vanished off the
floor.
Take some pictures, move on. Hope for another event to celebrate.
Please, no more short coin action no matter how crummy the paytable. You now
know that **it happens...royals happen. You now know to explore the real
cost of gambling.
