First Reno marketing offers, Atlantis and Peppermill - need assistance.

Got my first marketing offers from Atlantis and Peppermill from 4 day
trip in October.

Peppermill - my card average $3,600 Coin in per day over 3 days, 2
free nights in Tower + $60 free play. Offer says hotel room comps are
charged to my comp account. Wife's card average $1,600 per day over 3
days, 1 free night in tower, 2nd night rate of $25, + $30 free play.

Atlantis - one days play, $4,300 coin in. 2 nights in Concierge tower
Feb and Mar, 2 nights in Concierge tower Mar and April + $50 free
play Feb, Mar and $75 free play in April. Offer SPECIFICALLY
says "ABSOLUTELY FREE. No charge to your comp account.

Anyone familiar with the Concierge rooms??? How are they? The
website mentions butler service???

On the surface, the Atlantis offer appears superior to the Pepp offer
(I have not stayed at Atlantis before, though).

I have a question, would it be better to play on one card at
Atlantis, or sign up for seperate cards? Our play will be pretty
close to our last play at Peppermill. Now, if the offers only consist
of two nights at a time, we will probably sign up for seperate cards
because I would like to stay for four days minimum. If a four day
play would generate a marketing offer of four days, then keeping our
play on one card would be better.

Keep in mind, we are not 8k - 10k a day players. We will put in about
5k to 6k a day.

One card or two???

Also, the free play dates at Alantis are a little strange. $50 Feb
6-16, $50 Mar 2-16, and $75 Apr 2-19. None of these are good on the
last part of all three months! Is this typical with Atlantis? Free
play during the year only being good the first part of most months?

Thanks,
Mike from Little Rock

P.S. The Atlantis offer includes Fridays and Saturdays. The Pepp
offers were Sun - Thur.

That is interesting, I played in Reno my first time about 10/9/06 at
Pepp, Eldorado, and S.L, to my amazement, I started getting offers
about 2 weeks later from all three. I did give each one quite a bit
of action, all approximations, Pepp 150-200K, S.L. 100K, Eld. 50K.
No cash offers from Eld. but lots of events.
Tons of offers from Pepp. tourneys, free play....
S.L. quarterly cash offer, and several events.
Of course free rooms everywhere but most/all are charged against comp
acct. If Atlantis is offering truely free rooms, that is a bonus.
I played at Atlantis 2 days ago and gave them aprox. 110k CI, got 2000
tier pts for a Gold card, when I went to the booth to get the upgraded
card, the girl was floored that I got that many pts in one day and
went to get a host. We talked a bit and he offered a totally free
suite for my next trip and concert tickets or whatever was available
at the time. I will be going back in March, so we will see what happens.

The Atlantis db says $40 pt CI. How confident is that number, I was
playing two machines and from the best estimation I came up with it
was about $50 pt CI playing 100play .10 SDB?

If you are staying at the casino, it is good to have play each day.
If the room is in your name play everyday on that acct, but maybe only
one day play strong on the wifes acct. If not staying at the casino
try to concentrate your play all in one day, or one day play on your
card and the next play on your wifes card. Usually we will play a
small amount on my wifes card, and then put all the rest of our play
on my card so we can compare the offers, so we might split it up like
80%/20%, or if we are going to play a small amount, we will do all the
play on my card to get established.

That number is probably from one or two sessions on one or two banks of machines after they started making the tier scores directly visible on the machines.

The actual coin in/point may vary by denomination or from machine to machine, as most places are now assigning different theoretical player loss rates to different machines, which can affect how quickly you can attain tier score, earn comps, or qualify for other promotions. If more people collect more data on the actual coin in rate/point then more accurate information can be disseminated.

I've actually been doing a litte better than $40 per point in recent
visits. Like Peppermill, $40 per point at Atlantis is an
approximation (per Part Timer), but you should be somewhere between
$35 and $50 per point at both.

At Atlantis, tier score (points) is not "directly visible" (unless
that's something new), but can be found by selecting "menu" and
then "account balance." Using this feature, you can track your
points (with estimated coin) from machine to machine. That way you
can concentrate your play on machines that pay more points (comps)
per coin. Sometimes you may even find a VP machine "paying" a slot
rate (usually twice as much)!

Concierge tower: rooms are not much different than "regular", but
they come with some nice perks: top floors for view, newspaper, and
a lounge (25th floor) with complimentary continental breakfast
(basic but filling) and an afternoon happy hour (no open bar) with
snacks. "Butler" is a bit of misnomer ... might be a reference to
the employees staffing the lounge. I also like the dedicated glass
elevators.

The marketing dept. at Peppermill and Atlantis will also award a
card tier based on RATE of play. Thus a new player with 2000 points
in one day will not only earn Gold (Atlantis), but will very likely
get a bump to Platinum (or higher). Established players may need
several visits with significantly higher play to get a
similar "bump." Of course, if your play does not measure up over
the next year, you can expect to have your tier downgraded.

On a personal note, I'll be in town 2/10 - 2/14. Drop me a PM if
you'd like to visit.

BTW: any scouting reports on the VP offerings in the new Pepp
Sports Book?
