first misplayed royal flush ever

About 26 years after my first royal flush I finally hit one by misplaying the hand. On the Fiesta $ Dbl Bonus with a royal progessive @ 4720 and str. flush @ 260 I drew TJ4 ss with Q6. Not having played the progressive much in the recent past I incorrectly went for the royal not knowing the correct break point, which I later found out to be at least $5200.
I am curious if anyone else has had this type of good fortune.

I come up with $6705 (or $6702 if the straight flush can be rounded up
to $261) as the break number. Shame on you!

I once played a $1 full pay joker's wild 4-play machine for several
hours and got crushed so badly that the only straight flush I hit was
when I held KQ9s over 99 (the only mistake I noticed myself making).

In my "Million Dollar Video Poker" autobiography, I describe
holding As Ts 9d 8d 6d in $5 9/6 Jacks or Better when I had a coupon
paying a 5,000-coin bonus. My play of AT would have been correct if the
royal flush actually paid $45,000 like I thought it did. Unfortunately I
misread the coupon, and only royals in clubs got the bonus, so I only
got a "measly" $20,000 when the royal came in.

The primary reason I ended up telling the story was because I
was caught! While I was waiting to be paid, two students from my classes
happened to be wandering by and saw that I'd received a royal holding
AT. Rather than snickering at what I had done, they wanted to know when
I was going to have a class teaching such "advanced plays."

That reminds me of a friend who hit a royal on the 8-coin $1 9/6 jacks
or better machines at the bar at the Frontier. She was SUPPOSED to be
playing how I told her. There was a promotion that I believe paid
extra for some 4 of a kinds and 5 coins was the optimal number to
play. There was no extra pay for the royal. She was very proud of
the 6-coin royal that she hit for $4250 by holding AT suited, making 2
mistakes on the same hand.
