Hi everyone!
In the spirit of trying to generate some activity here on the old
vpFREE_NewEngland group, I can share the story of my most recent trip to Mohegan Sun last
weekend, when I got my FIRST DEALT Royal Flush!
I was on the 8/5 Bonus Poker machines in the Sky Casino. I started around
9:30P.M. on Saturday night. I had been at it for about 5 hours, during which time
I went down $140, got 4 Aces, and eventually cut losses to $20, only to
spiral down to a loss of $85 again. By then it was about 2:45 A.M. and the place
was dead as a doornail, very quiet, not a soul around. I was thinking I should
probably wrap things up because I was getting sleepy and didn't think I had the
stamina or focus needed to try to win the $85 back.
About that time, I sleepily hit the DRAW button and a gigantic sonic BOOM
emerged from the machine. It scared the BEJEEEEZUS out of me! I hurled myself
back in my chair, practically tipping it over. As my head snapped back, I saw the
ROYAL FLUSH bar light up. I was totally confused. I said to myself, "A Royal
Flush? How can this be? I haven't even looked at my cards yet!" Then I noticed
the money counter whirring away in the corner. Still completely bewildered,
and heart STILL pounding, I FINALLY looked at the cards. There they were, in
all their beauty, a ROYAL FLUSH in spades!
I just sat there shaking my head in disbelief. I looked all around the place,
hoping to get at least a little "thumbs up" from SOMEONE, but as I said,
there was not a soul in sight. And all the dumb attendant could come up with was,
"Not bad for a $1.25 investment." I did wake up my hubby at 4:00A.M. to tell h
im the news. I figure when something happens to you that only will happen once
every 649,739 deals, it's worth waking someone up for!
A dealt royal was never even on my radar screen which is probably why I
nearly died from a heart attack when it happened. I'll be prepared the NEXT time it
happens. (Hey, might as well think positive, right?)
