FIRST AMENDMENT: Ad law goes before court

Article is about a Los Vegas ordinance to prohibit distribution of fliers -- primarily because they are most often used to advertise smut and escort services, etc.
They probably used the wrong approach. I think they could possibly have gotten away with it if they just prohibited advertising of smut. The government has already succeeded in prohibiting some advertising -- cigarettes on TV, and I can't remember the last liquor TV commercial so I guess that has been restricted or banned, too.

The ban on liquor is voluntary by the industry. You will still see one
on rare occasions. Also, you will never actually see anyone actually
take a drink of beer or wine in commercials. That is voluntary also.
