fireworks?

Steve, you may want to reconsider. Vegas is amazingly lame when it comes to Independence Day fireworks. The strip offers some "private" displays (which, while visible to all, aren't all that amazing). The city is skimping and has canceled the big one near Buffalo and Rainbow and Desert Inn. Laughlin does a much better job.

Okay, we are finally gonna do it. We will be in Vegas for the 4th this year - in spite of the crowds, heat, and the fact that we have a waterfront place on Lake Pend Oreille in Idaho. of course, it will be 85 degrees this year on the 4th - it usually rains sideways!

The wife really wants to see the fireworks. There will be plenty of fireworks if i haul her away from the lake and she doesn't see any fireworks - if you catch my drift!

Where? When? How? Don't know the best place to watch, but thought about the Voodoo Lounge? Are they gonna be Wednesday? time?

We could just lay on a bus bench for most of the evening and look up - but the way I dress i might get carted off to jail.

  Thanks!

Speaking of fireworks, during my stay at the Four Queens earlier this month I looked out my window one night and caught a full fireworks display. I was on a high floor looking across Fremont (east, I guess) into the distance. Anyone have any idea what that might have been?
