I've discovered that Budget keeps a spare key (and a remote) in the spare
tire wheel well. Enterprise and Alamo usually do the same--but sometimes keep it
in the glove department with the manual's ziplock bag.
I immediately retrieve them after check-in, in case I lock myself out.
Prevents using one of my 4 annual AAA service calls--or, possibly, being gouged by
the rental co. for losing a key. Naturally, I replace the key when I return
the car.
Anybody else discover any other hiding places? Let's be discreet about this
and keep it too ourselves so the policy isn't changed!
