Filing Offers/Cards in Car??

I am a new Las Vegas "local", having moved here in August. The "locals" offers are starting to pour in, and I would like to keep my offers and players' cards in a big file box in my car, so if I realize that I am passing by this casino on an errand-I know that the offer is ready and I can stop by instead of having to preplan all my trips.

My problem is that cards melt and warp so much in this heat. Has anyone found a good compromise or solution? How do you handle your offers/coupons? Please e-mail if you don't want to post here. Thanks!! :slight_smile:

Good news Part 1: You're just about past the point in the year where
the inside of the car is going to get hot enough for this to be a
problem.
Good news part 2: The easiest way to deal with an overheating car is
to get one of those sunshades that fits inside the windshield
(ideally one with reflective coating). The good news is: the locals
casinos always seem to be giving these things away in April or May.
Good news part 3: Keep the cards either rubberbanded together in the
glove compartment (they won't warp in there) or in a old wallet that
you use expressly for that purpose.

If you play a fair amount, and the bounceback cash offers are
numerous, it can help to spend a few minutes at the beginning of the
month to make a "master calendar" showing all the periods when you
have cash/free slot play coming. I had one day last month when no
less than FIVE offers, totaling $190, coincided. It was worth a
couple of hours driving to casinos and cashing in!

Do we have any Sioux City IA VP'ers in this forum?

According to Midwest Gaming and Travel magazine, the old Argosy IV boat (where I used to play AA almost every Saturday morning until they built the new casino) is now in Sioux City.

Since none of the VP machines from the old boat made it to the new casino, I was wondering if the AA machines are still there, and if so do they have the full pay schedule? Most of them were pretty old and some were in bad shape, but there was a bank of six nearly new uprights around a column on the 2nd level that could have survived.

Yeah, I miss those AAs and other full pay machines on the old river
boat too. Unfortunately, our VPFree casino data base doesn't include
very many Iowa casinos. Hay, I have a great idea. If the group would
chip in for our expenses and a small bankroll, you and I could go
check out all the casinos in Iowa and report back. :wink:

I keep a seperate calender for my spouse and me posted on the garage
wall just to the side of the door. As I'm leaving the house, I check
to see what's available for the day and make my plans accordingly. I
also have a compartment that contains two of EVERY casino that I
would possibly play at in the entire city. Besides that, I keep
several cards for each of my two CORE casinos in the door
compartment.

As for the heat; get your windows tinted and buy a good window
reflector. Also, try and find some shade whenever possible.
