"Figuring out the Formula" from Bob Dancer's column in CP mag

With all due respect to Bob I say in order to keep under the casino radar
his story was true but the time it happened, where, and other details were
switched around in order to keep his privacy while playing. I've wandered into
high roller rooms to play a little and have seen Bob dressed shabby with his
hair messed up trying not to be noticed. I'd do that too if I were him. Once he
was slouching with his mouth open slapping at the buttons. The dead giveaway
was he had both machines to his right and left locked up with hand pays.

Drain, he's so under the radar terrorists want to give him a warm heavy coat
and a ride to the pet market.

Reasonable guess, but wrong. This happened very much as written ---
except for a few changes about Cody to ensure his privacy.

If the Aquarius had old Arizona Charlie's records, surely they would
have known my "Bob Dancer" alias, as I taught a few semesters at both of
the Charlie's and they knew my real name. As someone else has remarked
here, it was lucky that their records weren't up to date or I never
would have been determined eligible for a first-timer award.

My alias is hardly a big secret, as my picture is published in several
places (including my website, my autobiography, Video Poker for Winner's
packaging, and in casinos where I teach). Although I generally don't
"announce" who I am at a "new" casino, it doesn't take long for them to
figure it out. Usually one or more of their employees knows. Keeping
this a secret isn't a major goal of mine.

In addition, many people must have seen the shows at Travel Channel
where Bob Dancer was featured in front of video poker machines. And
since these shows have been reran many many times already, I'm sure
many people know who Bob Dancer is nowadays.
