Fiesta Rancho/ Texas Station Questions

Am considering staying and playing VP at Fiesta Rancho and/ or Texas
Station this coming January. I am coming in from the Midwest and have
never been to either property. Would be most grateful for answers on
the following questions.

1. Are players cards interchangable at both, since both are owned by
Stations.

2. What travel options do I have from McCarren. Prefer to avoid
taxi. I have done shuttles (Showtime, CLS, Grey Line) to Downtown in
the past, do they go to Fiesta Rancho/ Texas Station.

3. How much coin in would get my room comped. Am assuming I can get
casino rate to start.

4. Any personal views one way or the other on the 2 properties as it
relates to VP and accomodations.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Currently Stations and Fiestas have two different
cards. You must play on the correct property's card,
but you can redeem points from either card at both
properties. In December they are supposed to be
completely merging the two cards into one.

taxi. I have done shuttles (Showtime, CLS, Grey Line) to Downtown in

Don't know about the shuttles, but the Rancho bus (city
bus) stops in front of Texas and Fiesta.

3. How much coin in would get my room comped. Am assuming I can get

The DataBase says it took $8000 coin-in at Texas
in DEC 2003. I would guess that it takes more since
the point devaluation, if you're playing positive games.
Fiesta probably takes a little less than Texas.

4. Any personal views one way or the other on the 2 properties as it
relates to VP and accomodations.

Texas is a much bigger casino than Fiesta Rancho and
has better dining options. The rooms at both are
pretty basic. See the DataBase for the video poker
inventory. Both have plenty of full-pay options. You
can walk across the street between the two with
caution.

The shuttles will go to the Fiesta Rancho. However, you can take bus #108 or bus #109 (latter runs 24') from the airport zero level (one level below bag claim-then out the door to the far right). Pay $1.25 on board (or buy a 24' pass for $5) get a free transfer and take either bus downtown to the DTC (Downtown Transit Center) and get a free transfer to the #106 (runs 24') to either Texas Station or Fiesto Rancho (they are across Lake Mead Blvd from each other). Tjis works is you have carry on or less. If not use the shuttles. You are right to avoid the dishonest, overpriced, rip off taxis. The Station Casinos also have limited shuttle service between some of their properties.

Since you have time I would buy a roll of cat coins for $20 online. 2
per person get you from the airport to downtown on the 108 or 109. If
you grab a transfer on the bus for the 106 you get all the way to
Texas/FR for $1 a person + still have plenty of busfares that don't
expire.
