Are any of these machines readily available to play?

They get very little play between noon and 4PM unless
the individual progressives are pretty high.

I'm sure regular Texas Station players know this ... but I didn't.
There is $1 TS progressive that is only offered after 6PM (according
to the bartender). Before 6PM it pays $4000. Is that common? It
was new to me.

I also wonder whether pros (focused on high EV's) will decide to play
based on a high dealt RF progressive, or high reversible RF
progressive? My gut feeling is no, but those hands do seem to
attract a lot of players when they get high.

I would think that afternoon would be a busy time?

I suspect they get very little play anytime, but I could only
report the situation at the times that I'm there.

The only time I ever recall seeing the bank full was when
every individual progressive was over $1500.

I just got back from Shreveport. Boomtown Casino
has a bank of machines that are are multi-game
quarters, including three play and five play. The
three play games are on a dealt Royal progressive that
was over $95K when I left. All the games were
shortpay, I played the deuces wild myself, not sure if
it was the best game to play on those machines or not.
I was somewhat dumbfounded that there were usually
two or three people playing the available ten
machines!!--- Robert Romanyshyn <bobfpdw@yahoo.com>

Joe ........ What was the paybable on the Deuces Wild and JOB? :<) May be worthwhile if above 98%. I can understand the lack of play if they are real low % tables since the progressive is such a longshot.

Sorry, but I did not write them down. My
impression was that the deuces was the best play but I
am not sure of that. I used NSUD strategy, seem to
recall a 12-9-4-4 etc. structure. I do remember
hitting one wild Royal that paid only 100 credits
(quarters, in this case), not 125.
Btw, the last time I played this bank, I played
for over an hour and actually won a $100 or so. DDB
was what virtually everyone else I saw playing, but
none of them struck me as AP's as they were feeding in
small bills, switching machines and otherwise acting
like ploppies.
Another VP story, if I may digress. I had a free
entry into a VP tournament at the Horseshoe and while
waiting for my round I played some 50 play NSUD.
Denomination was nickels, I was down perhaps $100
after an hour when I drew 4 top diamonds. I said out
loud, "Here is the hand I have been waiting for all
morning" which started a short conversation with the
man on my right. I said something to the effect that I
should get a little over one Royal on the draw and he
replied something about 1.3. Although his math was a
little off, I did get the impression he was
knowledgeable about the game. And I actually drew 3
Royals, with my other winning hands, collected just
over 1300 nickels in credits and the machine spit out
a ticket automatically for what I think was the win on
just that one hand, around $625.
