Fiesta Gas ending 1/1/06

I heard that the Fiesta card will be merging with the Stations
Boarding Pass program, and the gas promo will end at that point.
Wanting to check this with the Fiesta, I sent them an e-mail using
their web site. Here's the reply:

We will be moving to the Boarding Pass (Stations Card), sometime in
the Summer of 2006. On January 1st, 2006, we will no longer be
offering gas for points. If you have any other questions, please
feel free to contact me.

Thank you.

Another good deal bites the dust!!!

Looks like I'll load up on the 7-11 cards at the Palms between now
and 12/23. They are good for gas purchases.

Unless something else comes along this will cut my play at Fiesta
significantly.

I don't think you are alone here! We have cut back considerably on Stations play, we have enough comps to eat for the next few years and there is nothing else they have to offer. We play Fiesta for the gas bonus. When they cut this back, if Southcoast has anything to play, we will switch to playing there for the cashback/bounceback and use it for gas money. If the casinos can change their policies, then the players can also change. Don't look for any big drop in Station stock, Orleans is packed all the time and there were predictions of doom when they took out all the FPDW!
  Cheers
  Bonnie

Bonnie,
I agree...once one has achieved a "core" number of points, the "Law
of Diminishing Returns" takes hold.

But, one must also take into account the bounce back cash, which at
my level of play is around .3%...not insignificant at all.

So...my plan of attack is to continue playing around 25,000 to 30,000
points per month ($50 to $60K)...get the .3% bounce back cash and use
the points for ??? Any ideas on the best use of Fiesta points (other
than cartons of cigarettes) would be appreciated.

Golf and movies.

Can you give more details on using those points for golf?

60,000 points for 18 holes and 1/2 cart at Black Mountain (located
about 2 miles east of Fiesta Henderson) ... unless they take this
away also.

Fiesta and Station points can be used for travel - even if it is through Prestige Travel. They have some very good agents at local travel agencies, the home office staff is miserable. But you can't smoke at the airport or on the plane.....
